Historical Aerial Photos of Kansas

About the Database

The Historical Aerial Photos of Kansas database provides access to a collection of aerial imagery organized by county. GPS locations are assigned based on the approximate center of each photo set. Users can explore images through an interactive mapper or browse the entire collection. This scanning project is ongoing, with new images being added as they become available.

Within the collection, there are a few images that are unable to be scanned but are available for evaluation either in person or by contacting the project coordinator. For more information, please contact Nikki Potter by email at nikki-potter@ku.edu or by phone at 785-864-2098.

This project has been funded by grants from the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program of the U.S. Geological Survey from 2016 through 2026. Results are placed in the National Digital Catalog Registry of Scientific Collections (ReSciColl).
